What's Happening: The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Flash Flood Warning until 3:00 AM EDT. At 11:00 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area, with 0.5 to 1.5 inches already fallen. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible, and flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. The hazard is life-threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.

  • I-476 in PA (mile markers 0–19)
  • NJ Turnpike (exits 1–5)
  • I-76 in PA (mile markers 329–351)
  • I-95 in PA (mile markers 0–33)
  • I-676 in PA (mile markers 0–1) and NJ (mile markers 0–4)
  • Northeast Extension near mile marker 21
  • I-76 in NJ (mile markers 0–3)
  • PA Turnpike (mile markers 329–346)
  • I-95 in DE (mile markers 9–23)

What To Do:

  • Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
  • Be especially cautious at night, when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
