What's Happening: Severe thunderstorms are moving south at 40 mph across parts of eastern and northeastern Maryland. The hazard is 60 mph wind gusts. Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding.

What To Do:

  • Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
  • Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
  • Stay aware of rapidly changing conditions until the warning expires at 2:30 PM ET Wed Sep 2.

Why Now: At 1:42 PM EDT, radar indicated severe thunderstorms along a line extending from Cayots to near Overton to near Parole. The line was moving south at 40 mph.
