🌤️ Delmarva Weather Update — Saturday, June 13, 2026

Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Kent, Inland Sussex, and the Delaware Beaches from 6 PM tonight until midnight.

Today's Weather Story: A drier, less humid airmass has settled in behind a passing boundary, giving Delmarva a bright, comfortable Saturday with light northwest winds across the interior and a cooler northeast flow along the immediate coast. Highs run from the upper 70s at the Atlantic beaches to the low 90s in Salisbury, with full sunshine just about everywhere. Enjoy it — this is the calm before a more active stretch arrives Sunday.

Across Delmarva:

  • Wilmington, DE: Sunny, high 88°F, NW 5 mph
  • Dover, DE: Sunny, high 88°F, NW 5 mph
  • Georgetown, DE: Sunny, high 89°F, NW 5 mph
  • Lewes, DE: Sunny, high 87°F, N 5–10 mph
  • Cambridge, MD: Sunny, high 88°F, NW 6 mph
  • Salisbury, MD: Sunny, high 92°F, NW 6 mph
  • Ocean City, MD: Sunny, high 78°F, NE 8 mph
  • Chincoteague, VA: Sunny, high 81°F, E 7 mph

Active Weather Alerts:

  • Coastal Flood Advisory — Kent, Inland Sussex, and Delaware Beaches, in effect from 6 PM Saturday until 12 AM Sunday. Minor tidal flooding expected with the evening high tide cycle along the Atlantic coast and Delaware Bay.

Severe Weather Outlook: SPC has no severe risk over Delmarva today, so storms are not in the picture for Saturday. However, SPC has placed the entire region — from Wilmington and Dover south through Salisbury, Ocean City, Chincoteague, and Cape Charles — under a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms on Sunday. WPC also flags an excessive rainfall and flooding concern as tropical moisture works in, so Sunday's storms could bring locally heavy downpours in addition to wind and hail potential.

Why This Setup: A stalled boundary parked nearby, an approaching cold front, and a feed of tropical moisture will combine with an upper-level disturbance to fire storms Sunday afternoon and night. Today's quiet sunshine is courtesy of brief high pressure between systems.

Looking Ahead: Sunday turns active by afternoon with showers and thunderstorms, some severe, continuing into Sunday night. Cooler, less humid air follows for the first half of next week.

Bottom Line: Soak up a gorgeous, low-humidity Saturday — and if you're near the Delaware Bay or Atlantic coast this evening, watch for minor tidal flooding around the high tide cycle.
