SPC has bumped Dover, Lewes, and Wilmington up to a Marginal Risk this afternoon, joining the lower Delmarva under a threat for a few strong to severe storms.
What's Changed Since This Morning: The big shift is on the severe side: SPC upgraded Dover, Lewes, and Wilmington from general thunder to a Marginal Risk, extending the severe threat statewide across Delaware. Mount Holly also issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Delaware Bay and beaches for this evening's high tide. Storms are already firing across the peninsula and will continue into the early evening.
Current Severe Weather Picture: SPC Day 1 now carries a Marginal Risk across the entire Delmarva sampled corridor — Wilmington, Dover, Lewes, Salisbury, Ocean City, Chincoteague, and Cape Charles. That means isolated strong to severe storms are possible, with damaging wind gusts the primary concern. Day 2 drops to general thunderstorms potential, confined to the southern tip near Cape Charles.

Through Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue through the early evening, with the strongest cells capable of gusty winds. Minor tidal flooding is expected around this evening's high tide along the Delaware Bay and coastal communities, then storms gradually wind down overnight with drier air working in for Sunday.
Bottom Line: Keep an eye to the sky through sunset and give the coast some room at high tide — Sunday looks noticeably quieter.
