Today's Weather Story: A much drier air mass has settled over Delmarva behind a departing boundary, delivering a bright, comfortable summer day with highs near 80°F and a steady northeast breeze off the Atlantic. Most of the region stays rain-free, though the far southern tip near Chincoteague sits closer to lingering moisture and carries a small shower or storm chance early before partial sun takes over.

Severe Weather Outlook: SPC has a General Thunderstorms area clipping the southern tip of the peninsula around Chincoteague and Cape Charles — meaning any storm that fires there is expected to stay below severe limits. No categorical severe risk is drawn for the rest of Delmarva. WPC's excessive rainfall concern is focused well south of us, with a Flood Watch tied to Hampton Roads and northeast North Carolina, not the Eastern Shore.
