🌤️ Delmarva Weather Update — Saturday, July 25, 2026
Today's Weather Story: A north-to-south split runs the show today. Northern Delmarva sits under sunshine and quiet easterly flow, while lingering showers taper off across the southern Eastern Shore and Virginia coast through the morning and into the evening. Highs cluster near 80°F, held down slightly along the coast by that onshore NE breeze.
Across Delmarva:
- Wilmington, DE: Sunny, high 85°F, winds E 0–5 mph.
- Dover, DE: Mostly sunny, high 82°F, winds E 5–10 mph.
- Georgetown, DE: Scattered showers early then partly sunny, high 81°F, winds NE 0–5 mph (PoP 40%).
- Lewes, DE: Isolated showers then partly sunny, high 79°F, winds NE 5–10 mph (PoP 18%).
- Cambridge, MD: Chance of showers then partly sunny, high 82°F, winds NE 6 mph (PoP 45%).
- Salisbury, MD: Chance of showers then mostly cloudy, high 81°F, winds NE 2–7 mph (PoP 50%).
- Ocean City, MD: Chance of showers then partly sunny, high 77°F, winds NE 6–10 mph (PoP 44%).
- Chincoteague, VA: Showers likely then mostly cloudy, high 77°F, winds NE 9 mph (PoP 60%).
Active Weather Alerts:
- No active Delmarva alerts at this time.
Severe Weather Outlook: SPC has no categorical severe risk over Delmarva today or tomorrow. WPC did not identify a Delmarva-specific excessive rainfall threat, though shower activity is being squeezed out across the southern Eastern Shore and Chincoteague area as the boundary responsible for the rain slides away later today. No flash flood concerns are flagged.
Why This Setup: A stalled boundary and a nearby disturbance are keeping just enough moisture over the southern half of the peninsula to fire scattered showers, while high pressure to the north locks in sunshine from Dover to Wilmington. That NE onshore flow is the tell — it's why beaches and Tidewater stay cooler and cloudier than I-95.
Looking Ahead: Sunday and Monday look mainly dry with only isolated late-day showers as humidity begins to climb. By Tuesday, higher rain chances return and the NWS is flagging the potential for strong to severe storms mid-week.
Bottom Line: Northern Delmarva gets a bright, comfortable summer Saturday; south of Salisbury, keep the umbrella close through midday before skies try to break.
