SPC has added Dover, DE to the Day 1 General Thunderstorms Risk.
What's Changed Since This Morning: The meaningful update is the SPC Day 1 change: Dover now joins Wilmington in the General Thunderstorms Risk area. The latest forecast still shows the better shower and thunder chance staying north, while most of the Eastern Shore and coastal areas remain predominantly sunny and dry. NWS discussion continues to focus scattered shower and thunderstorm development later today into tonight across portions of eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Current Severe Weather Picture: Day 1 carries a General Thunderstorms Risk for Wilmington and Dover. This is not a Marginal or Slight severe-weather outlook, but thunderstorms remain possible in northern Delaware. For Day 2, the General Thunderstorms Risk includes Cape Charles and Chincoteague in Virginia, plus Dover, Lewes, Ocean City, Salisbury, and Wilmington. No active Delmarva severe thunderstorm watches or warnings are in effect.

Through Tonight: Conditions remain notably different from north to south: Wilmington has a 33% chance of showers and thunderstorms, while Dover is at 16%. Georgetown and Lewes are forecast sunny with just a 2% rain chance, and Cambridge, Salisbury, Ocean City, and Chincoteague are sunny with precipitation chances of 0–1%. Southwest to south winds range from 5 to 13 mph, with highs from 81°F at Ocean City to 88°F at Dover and Salisbury.
Bottom Line: Watch the sky for an isolated shower or thunderstorm around Wilmington and Dover, but most of Delmarva stays sunny, warm, and dry through tonight.
