⛈️ Delmarva Weather Update — Saturday, September 26, 2026
Coastal Flood Warnings, a High Wind Warning, Wind Advisories, High Surf Advisories, a Rip Current Statement, and a Beach Hazards Statement are in effect across portions of Delmarva, with alerts extending into September 27.
Today's Weather Story: Rain is likely across Delmarva today as a strengthening nor’easter works nearby, keeping temperatures unusually cool in the low to mid 60s. North winds will be gusty, especially along the coast, where Lewes may see 35 mph winds and Ocean City winds reach 28 to 32 mph. Coastal flooding is tidal flooding driven by the storm and onshore flow, not rainfall flooding.

Severe Weather Outlook: SPC has no categorical severe-weather risk over Delmarva today or tomorrow. WPC does not indicate a Delmarva-specific excessive rainfall risk, though showers are likely and Ocean City may see thunderstorms.
Why This Setup: A developing nor’easter east of the Mid-Atlantic is lifting north and will later drift back toward New Jersey. Its persistent onshore flow is driving the rain, strong north winds, surf, and repeated tidal flooding concerns.
Looking Ahead: Gusty coastal conditions, dangerous surf, and tidal flooding concerns continue through the weekend as the nor’easter lingers nearby. The system is expected to finally depart on Tuesday.
Bottom Line: Plan for a wet, windy, cool Saturday, with the greatest coastal hazards at the beaches and along tidal waterways.
