Today on the Water: Gale Warning in effect until 10 PM for the NJ/DE coastal waters, with Small Craft Advisories blanketing the Delaware Bay, Chesapeake, and VA coastal zones into tomorrow. Strong onshore E flow is driving rough seas, rain, and a slight chance of thunderstorms. High Surf Advisory and Rip Current Statement also active for Delaware and NJ beaches.

Atlantic Coastal Waters (Lewes → southern VA coast): E winds 20-25 kt with gusts to 35 kt, seas 6-8 ft at 7 seconds. Rain through the day with a slight chance of tstms this afternoon. Winds ease to 15-20 kt after midnight but seas hold 6-8 ft tonight.

Delaware Bay: E winds 20-25 kt, gusts strong, seas 3-5 ft with a short 4-second period — steep and uncomfortable. Rain through tonight. Winds back off to 15-20 kt after midnight.

Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters: E winds 15-20 kt gusting 25 kt this morning, easing to 10-15 kt with gusts to 20 kt by late morning into the afternoon. Waves around 4 ft at 7 seconds. Showers likely early, then scattered showers. SCAs lift between 10 AM and 1 PM across most VA zones.

Wind & Seas Outlook: Peak winds and peak seas both hit tonight on the Atlantic side — E 20-25 kt gusting 35 kt, seas 6-8 ft. Conditions don't truly settle until Tuesday night.
