🌊 US Weather Warriors MarineCast — 2026-05-27

Southwest winds, building seas, and afternoon storms set up a rough day on the water before things settle midweek.

Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters: SW 5 to 10 kt gusting 15 kt, going W with similar gusts late. Wave detail SE 2 ft at 7 seconds and SW 1 foot at 3 seconds. Storms likely this afternoon into evening with strong gust potential — this is the zone to watch.

Wind & Seas Outlook: Peak winds hit Sunday with N 10 to 15 kt gusting 20 kt. Highest seas also Sunday — 3 to 4 ft, occasionally to 6 ft on the Atlantic side.

Marine Alerts:

  • No active marine alerts. Monitor for Special Marine Warnings this afternoon and evening.

Best Window to be Out: Friday — W winds 5 kt on the Chesapeake, NW 5 to 10 kt on Delaware Bay, seas 1 foot or less. Cleanest window in the forecast.

Bottom Line: If you're not already committed, wait it out — Friday is the day, not today.
