🌊 US Weather Warriors MarineCast — Monday, June 1, 2026

Small Craft Advisories blanket the Atlantic coastal waters and most of the Chesapeake — a windy, building-seas setup with a cold front swinging winds around through the day.

Today on the Water: SCAs are up across the Atlantic from Fenwick down through Currituck and across nearly all of the Chesapeake, with end times running into Tuesday and Wednesday depending on zone. Coastal Flood Statements/Advisories are also in effect for parts of the lower Eastern Shore, Anne Arundel, and the Northern Neck through the morning high tide. A dry cold front pushes through early, flipping winds from SW to N then NE behind it, and seas build through tonight into Tuesday.

Atlantic Coastal Waters (Lewes → southern VA coast): SW 15–20 kt gusting 25 early, diminishing late morning, then NW 5–10 kt midday before NE fills in 10–15 kt with gusts to 20 late. Seas 3–4 ft, occasionally 6 ft, with a mixed SW windsea and NE swell. Slight chance of showers and a stray afternoon thunderstorm.

Delaware Bay: Winds settle through midday before E 10–15 kt with gusts to 20 build tonight. Seas climb to 2–3 ft after dark. Manageable window mid-to-late morning between the frontal shift and the easterly fill-in.

Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters: SW 15–20 kt gusting 25 early, swinging N 5–10 kt with gusts to 15 by early afternoon, then NE 10–15 kt gusting 20 late. Fog possible in spots; scattered showers/tstms this afternoon. SCAs remain in force across most Bay zones into Tuesday.

Wind & Seas Outlook: Peak winds Tuesday with NE 20–25 kt gusting 30 on the Atlantic side. Peak seas also Tuesday: 5–6 ft, occasionally 9 ft offshore; 4–5 ft on the lower Bay.

Best Window to be Out: Wednesday is the realistic break — N winds around 5 kt and waves under a foot on the Bay; light SE on the Atlantic side overnight into Thursday.

Worst Window: Tuesday — NE 20–25 kt, gusts to 30, and seas to 9 ft offshore.

Bottom Line: Stay tied up unless you're running a sturdy boat with a tight late-morning Bay window in mind — conditions get worse before they get better.
