🌊 US Weather Warriors MarineCast — Tuesday, June 2, 2026
Small Craft Advisories blanket the Atlantic and lower Chesapeake with NE winds gusting 30 kt and seas building to 10 ft offshore.
Today on the Water: SCAs are stacked across every Delmarva coastal and lower Bay zone, most running through late morning to early evening. A Rip Current Statement covers the Delaware beaches through 8 PM. NE flow is the story — strong, gusty, and pushing in a heavy short-period sea. Radar is quiet; no convective cells within 50 nm.
Atlantic Coastal Waters (Lewes → southern VA coast): NE 20–25 kt with gusts to 30 kt, easing to 15–20 kt late. Seas a rough 6–7 ft, occasionally 10 ft, with a stacked NE 7 ft @ 9 sec and 6 ft @ 6 sec swell. Not a small-boat day — stay in the inlets.
Delaware Bay: NE 10–15 kt gusting 20 kt this morning, dropping to 5–10 kt by early afternoon and shifting SE late. Seas 2–3 ft on a short 3-second period. The afternoon shift is your opening if you have to move.
Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters: NE 20–25 kt with gusts to 30 kt, easing to 15–20 kt with gusts to 25 kt late. Waves 5–6 ft, occasionally 8 ft. Central Bay still seeing 20 kt gusts per LWX; conditions improve as high pressure slides overhead mid-week.
Wind & Seas Outlook: Peak winds and seas are today. Marked improvement Wednesday night into Thursday as winds collapse to 5 kt and seas drop to 1–3 ft.
