🌊 US Weather Warriors MarineCast — Wednesday, June 3, 2026

Small Craft Advisory up on the southern VA coastal waters through this evening — pick your zone carefully today.

Today on the Water: SCA in effect for waters from Cape Charles Light to the VA/NC border out 20 NM until 6:00 PM EDT. Coastal Flood Advisory for Anne Arundel until 9:00 AM. Dense fog inland to the west, but Delmarva radar is quiescent — no active cells within 50 nm. High pressure keeps the rest of the region manageable into Thursday.

Atlantic Coastal Waters (Lewes → southern VA coast): SCA conditions down south; farther north winds back to SE around 5 kt tonight, shifting NW late. Seas 2 to 3 ft with an E swell at 9 seconds — long-period, workable for bigger boats. Best window is tonight after the advisory clears.

Delaware Bay: Light and easy. Winds SW around 5 kt Thursday, shifting S in the afternoon. Seas 1 ft or less with a short SE chop at 2 seconds. No hazards in play.

Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters: NW 5 kt building to S in the afternoon, waves around 1 ft. LWX notes near-SCA southerly channeling possible Thursday evening into Friday morning over the middle and lower bay — worth watching if you're heading out late week.

Wind & Seas Outlook: Peak wind arrives Saturday night with S 15-20 kt gusting 30 kt offshore. Peak seas same window — 4 to 5 ft, occasionally to 7 ft on the Atlantic side. Sunday stays bumpy with SW 10-15 kt gusting 20.

Marine Alerts:

  • Small Craft Advisory — Cape Charles Light to VA/NC border out 20 NM, until 6:00 PM EDT
  • Coastal Flood Advisory — Anne Arundel, until 9:00 AM EDT
  • Beach Hazards Statement — Virginia Beach, until 8:00 PM EDT
  • Dense Fog Advisory — inland VA/WV mountains, until 9:00 AM EDT

Best Window to be Out: Thursday daytime across all three zones — light winds, sub-1-ft to 1-ft seas, dry skies under the high.

Worst Window: Saturday night into Sunday on the Atlantic — gale-adjacent gusts and 7-ft seas.

Bottom Line: Stay north of Cape Charles today and you'll find workable water; tomorrow is the clear winner before the weekend turns.
