🌊 US Weather Warriors MarineCast — Thursday, June 4, 2026
Calm, light-wind day across all Delmarva waters before winds and seas build sharply into the weekend.
Today on the Water: High pressure builds overhead, keeping winds under 10 kt and seas flat across the board. No active marine alerts. Radar is quiescent — no cells within 50 nm of the coast. Enjoy it; this is the calmest day in the forecast period.
Atlantic Coastal Waters (Lewes → southern VA coast): N winds 5 kt early, swinging E by late morning and SE late in the day. Seas 2 to 3 ft on an 8-second E swell — easy ride. No visibility concerns noted.
Delaware Bay: W winds around 5 kt, shifting S by midday and bumping to 5-10 kt late. Seas 1 ft or less. About as smooth as the Bay gets in June.
Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters: NW 5 kt early, going S in the afternoon. Waves 1 ft. S winds build to 10-15 kt with gusts to 20 kt Friday night, so Bay anglers should plan around that.
Wind & Seas Outlook: Winds peak Sunday with SW 10-15 kt gusting 25 kt and afternoon thunderstorms possible. Seas peak Monday offshore at 5-6 ft, occasionally to 9 ft, on NE 15-20 kt gusting 25 — looks like an SCA-caliber setup developing.
Marine Alerts:
- No active marine alerts.
Best Window to be Out: This morning through early afternoon today, anywhere from the Atlantic out of Lewes/OC/Chincoteague to the upper Chesapeake. Light winds, low seas, dry radar.
Worst Window: Sunday afternoon — SW winds gusting 25 kt with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Monday offshore is worse for seas if you're running farther out.
Bottom Line: Launch today and make it count — this is the pick of the week before wind and seas ramp up into Sunday and Monday.
