🌊 US Weather Warriors MarineCast — Saturday, June 13, 2026
Small Craft Advisory and Coastal Flood Advisory in effect — manageable today, but a hazardous setup builds Sunday into Sunday night.
Today on the Water: SCA is up across Chesapeake Bay zones through 8:30 AM, with the broader advisory running through 11 PM Sunday. Coastal Flood Advisory covers the Delaware and NJ beaches through 5 PM. Radar is quiescent right now — no cells within 50 nm of Delmarva — but showers and thunderstorms move in Sunday afternoon and evening.
Atlantic Coastal Waters (Lewes → southern VA coast): Conditions deteriorate sharply Sunday night: S winds 15-20 kt becoming SW 10-15 kt after midnight, gusts to 25 kt, seas 3-4 ft and occasionally to 6 ft. Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms. Cleanest window is Monday night — SW 5 kt, seas 2-3 ft.
Delaware Bay: Sunday afternoon is the turn: S 5-10 kt builds to 15-20 kt with gusts to 25 kt, seas going from a foot or less to 2-3 ft, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Tuesday flattens out — NW around 5 kt becoming S in the afternoon, seas 1 foot or less.
Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters: Light and variable today per LWX, then S 5-10 kt with gusts to 15 builds to SE 15-20 kt gusting 25 Sunday afternoon with showers and thunderstorms possible. SMWs may be needed. Monday night settles to E 5 kt, waves 1 foot.
Wind & Seas Outlook: Peak winds and seas hit Sunday night across all zones — Atlantic seas to 6 ft, gusts to 25 kt bay-wide. Conditions improve Monday and flatten Tuesday.
Marine Alerts:
- Coastal Flood Advisory — DE and NJ beaches/inland zones, until 5 PM today
- Small Craft Advisory — Chesapeake Bay zones, until 8:30 AM today, with SCA conditions returning and running through 11 PM Sunday
Best Window to be Out: Monday night through Tuesday — light winds, calm seas, dry weather across all three zones.
Worst Window: Sunday afternoon through Sunday night — building S winds, gusts to 25 kt, seas to 6 ft offshore, thunderstorms possible.
Bottom Line: Today is workable for prepared boaters watching the SCA timing, but cancel any Sunday afternoon or overnight plans and aim for Monday night or Tuesday instead.
