Today on the Water:
Coastal Flood Advisories cover portions of the Delaware and New Jersey coast today.
Winds remain below Small Craft Advisory levels, but conditions can turn higher in and near thunderstorms.
Radar shows one cell 32 nm ENE of Ocean City; it is offshore, with no motion direction provided.
Atlantic Coastal Waters (Lewes → southern VA coast):
West winds 5 to 10 kt, with gusts to 15 kt early, and seas 2 to 3 ft.
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms develops late; the early part of the day is the better operating window.
The offshore radar cell sits 32 nm ENE of Ocean City, so it bears watching for crews running east of the beaches.
Delaware Bay:
Current zone detail is limited for today; showers are forecast at times.
The Bay’s lighter period arrives Saturday Night, with northwest winds around 5 kt and seas 1 foot or less.
Winds and seas will be higher in and near thunderstorms.
Chesapeake Bay & Delmarva-facing Waters:
West winds 5 to 10 kt with gusts up to 15 kt, becoming east late.
Waves include a 1-foot west component at 3 seconds and a 1-foot southeast component at 6 seconds.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible late, and wind direction may be variable as disturbances move through.
Wind & Seas Outlook:
The rougher wind period is Friday Night into Saturday, when northeast winds reach 10 to 15 kt and coastal gusts reach 20 kt.
Atlantic seas remain 2 to 3 ft through that period; Delaware Bay waves build to around 2 ft Friday Night.

Worst Window: Late today near any showers or thunderstorms, and Friday Night into Saturday as northeast winds increase.
Bottom Line: Launchable early for protected-water runs, but coastal flooding and late thunderstorms make this a day to keep trips short and close to harbor.
